Advisory Committee on Travel Agents
The Committee comprises a Chairman and 14 Members. The 12 unofficial members are drawn from the travel trade and different sectors in the community including professionals, finance, retail and the Consumer Council, etc. representing different views in the community. The two official members include the Commissioner for Tourism or the Assistant Commissioner for Tourism (1) and the Registrar of Travel Agents who is the ex officio member and secretary of the Committee.

The Advisory Committee on Travel Agents (ACTA) is a statutory body established under Section 7 of the Travel Agents Ordinance (Cap. 218)(TAO). Its terms of reference are -
to advise the Chief Executive on such matters relating to the administration of the TAO or the carrying on of the business of a travel agent as the Chief Executive may refer to the Committee;
to advise the Chief Executive on such matters as the Committee may consider to be in the interests of -
travel agents; and
persons using the services of travel agents; and
to perform such other duties as are imposed or other powers as are conferred on it by the TAO or as may be prescribed or which it may lawfully exercise.

Section 7(2): "The Board shall be the governing and executive body of the Corporation and, as such, shall perform all the functions imposed on the Corporation and may exercise all the powers conferred on the Corporation by this Ordinance."

Travel Industry Authority
The Travel Industry Authority was established in January 2020 under the Travel Industry Ordinance (Cap. 634).  Its functions include promoting the integrity, competency and professionalism of travel agents, tourist guides and tour escorts through a statutory licensing and regulatory system, and regulating shops that inbound tour groups are arranged to patronise.

Travel Industry Compensation Fund Management Board
The Travel Industry Compensation Fund Management Board (TICFMB) is a statutory body established under section 32B of the Travel Agents Ordinance (TAO) (Cap. 218). Its major terms of reference are:
to hold, manage and apply the Travel Industry Compensation Fund (TICF) in accordance with the provisions of the TAO;
to provide ex gratia payment to outbound travellers who suffer loss of outbound fares (commonly arisen from the default of travel agents), and to outbound travellers who sustain personal injuries or death in accidents during outbound activities provided or organized by travel agents;
to authorize the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong or any other person to collect the TICF levy;
to invest any money of the TICF in any investment authorized under the Trustee Ordinance (Cap. 29) or approved by the Financial Secretary;
to make rules in relation to the administration of the TICF; and
to arrange for the examination of the economy, efficiency and effectiveness with which the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong has used its resources if required by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development.

The TICFMB comprises a Chairman and 7 Members. The 6 unofficial members are drawn from various fields such as banking sector, travel industry, legal sector and the Consumer Council. The Registrar of Travel Agents is the ex officio Member and Secretary of the TICFMB.

Advisory Committee on Cruise Industry
The Advisory Committee on Cruise Industry (ACCI) was established on 28 January 2008. This is part of the Government's plan to further develop Hong Kong into a regional cruise hub. With members from key players in the cruise market, tourism industry, and the Hong Kong Tourism Board, ACCI advises the Government on measures enhancing the development of Hong Kong as a regional cruise hub. Matters of priorities for ACCI include -
developing cruise tourism in Hong Kong and the region;
fostering co-operation with neighbouring coastal provinces in the Mainland and in Asia for cruise itinerary development;
driving market demand for cruise tourism and expanding our cruise passenger source markets; and
enhancing manpower supply to cater for the needs of the cruise market.
