Tourism Performance in 2015
In 2015, the number of visitors received by Hong Kong was 59.3 million, representing a decline of 2.5% over 2014.

In 2015, the Mainland continued to be our largest visitor source market with 45.8 million arrivals (-3.0% over 2014), accounting for 77% of our total arrivals. Amongst all Mainland arrivals, 27.8 million (61%) were same-day visitors, while 18.0 million (39%) were overnight visitors.

As for non-Mainland markets, the number of visitors from short-haul markets in 2015 was 8.9 million (-1.0% over 2014), while those from long-haul markets was 4.6 million (-0.8% over 2014).

Hong Kong’s top ten visitor source markets in 2015 in the order of arrival numbers were the Mainland, Taiwan, Korea, the United States, Japan, Macao, the Philippines, Singapore, Australia and Malaysia. Altogether they accounted for 92% of the total visitor arrivals. Among Hong Kong’s top ten visitor source markets, the number of visitors from the United States, Macao and the Philippines increased by 2.0% to 10.9%, while those for Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Australia and Malaysia fell by 0.6% to 8.5%.
