The Ngong Ping Nature Centre (the Centre) situated at Ngong Ping Village in Lantau has re-opened since 30 November 2021 after a collaborative renovation project undertaken by the Tourism Commission and Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD). The newly renovated Centre offers interactive exhibits that feature recommended hiking routes nearby as well as the culture, history, biodiversity and scenic spots of Lantau. It also provides map and hiking pole lending services as well as various guided tour services to enrich visitors’ travel experience in Lantau.
In addition, the Tourism Commission has, in collaboration with the AFCD and Civil Engineering and Development Department, commissioned improvement works for the hiking trails near the Centre. Such works include improving some sections of the Nei Lak Shan Country Trail and Lantau Trail, enhancing visitor signages, as well as expanding and constructing viewing platforms. The works are expected to be completed in phases within 2022.
