Travel agents and their staff

The Government has launched the Travel Agents and Practitioners Support Scheme under the Anti-epidemic Fund. In respect of travel agents and their staff, this scheme aims to:

  1. provide travel agents with a one-off subsidy ranging from $20,000 to $200,000 (amount depending on the number of their staff members):

    Number of Staff Members on
    31 March 2020
    Amount of Subsidy
    Fewer than 5 $20,000
    5 to fewer than 20 $50,000
    20 to fewer than 50 $100,000
    50 or above $200,000

  2. provide travel agents' staff each with a subsidy equivalent to $5,000 monthly for six months. Each subsidy will be disbursed in two tranches.
Details of the Scheme and Application Form:

Note: Under the original requirement of this Scheme, if an applicant is an "eligible travel agent" and has successfully applied/is applying for a subsidy under any other scheme in the second round of the Anti-epidemic Fund ("AEF") (except the Employment Support Scheme), it is not eligible for this Scheme. In view of the Distance Business Programme ("D-Biz Programme") launched in the second round of AEF to provide funding for enterprises to adopt IT solutions for developing distance business, and its nature different from that of the Travel Agents and Practitioners Support Scheme, the Government upon examination has decided to enhance the original requirement above. An "eligible travel agent" under the Travel Agents and Practitioners Support Scheme can also apply for a subsidy under the D-Biz Programme if it is eligible to apply under that programme.
