1 Tower 535

Phoenix Property Investors (PPI) has unveiled “Walking in Hong Kong”, an LED art installation created especially for the Company’s development, TOWER 535, by internationally renowned contemporary artist, Julian Opie. The installation, which is permanently displayed, is the first Julian Opie artwork to be commissioned in Hong Kong. The LED installation of TOWER 535 spans approximately 80m in height to create a visual monolith connecting the new building with the bustling streets around it. The animated figures, which can be seen from as far away as Kowloon side, “walk” endlessly around the building at the pace of their own lives, as part of the vibrant community of Causeway Bay. ‘Walking in Hong Kong’, videos and images of four distinct individuals engaged in the ordinary activity of walking have been reduced to simple symbols of the world today.
