Redevelopment Plans for Ocean Park

In February 2005, the Ocean Park Corporation submitted to the Government a $5.55 billion master plan to redevelop the park into a world-class marine-themed park featuring more than 70 attractions. The redevelopment plan was endorsed by the Chief Executive in Council in October 2005 and the funding arrangement was approved by Legislative Council in December 2005. The redevelopment plan continues to emphasise the importance of community involvement and the park's role in supporting conservation and educational initiatives in Hong Kong.

The redevelopment work has been started and will be delivered in eight phases by 2012-13. New attractions will be introduced in each phase and the first one, SkyFair Plaza, was opened in February 2007.
